Colette:The Artist - Film
I am oinkingly honored that my film, Colette:The Artist was selected for the Mill Valley Film Festival 43. A big oink to Newsweek for recognizing a little (big actually) Mexican Pig and her endeavors. We invite you to watch the film free of charge. But in the spirit of Piganthropy, perhaps you would be willing to donate to the Padrino Children’s Foundation?
Welcome to Colette’s world!
She was rescued by Don Javier and brought to live at the Hotelito.
He, apart from rescuing her, was her champion. He never doubted her desire to be an artist. He encouraged her at every turn, bringing her paints and even installing wi-fi in the pigsty so she would have access to the International Art World. Colette, an intuitive autodidact, explored many mediums until she discovered video art, there began her artistic journey in earnest.
Her friend, and member of the Colettivo, Francois Paris a fellow artist was very supportive. One day, he sent off a strand of her hair to Ancestry.oink. She believed she was a 100% proud Mexican but the results showed, that like most of the population, she is of mixed race. She discovered, thanks to Ancestry.oink, that she has some French DNA.
Francois painted a portrait of her Uncle, Oncle Charles.
She knew she was simply not going to be a commodity, and certainly not an edible one.
